New York, NY
The InterContinental Times Square is currently the largest hotel to be awarded LEED certification in New York City. Collaborating with building architect Gensler, Jeffrey Beers International designed elegant interiors that serve as a serene retreat within the bustling neighborhood. With the hotel’s focus on sustainability, the visual language of the InterContinental revolves around a verdant glass-walled courtyard, a lush backdrop for the lobby and a source of natural light for the guestrooms above. The two-story Presidential Suite offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, in a handsomely appointed interior whose living and sleeping areas are linked by a sweeping, grand staircase.
“The garden became a very unique and important element of the hotel for me. I envisioned this space as offering guests an escape from the bombardment and frenzy of New York City.”
“I didn’t want to play any tricks. I just wanted it to have heart and soul.”
